PALATINE
Palatine is a village of about 50,000 residents with a median age of 34. The average household income is $55,000 and the average price for a house is $160,000. Palatine is located in Cook County about 30 miles northwest of Chicago, with easy access to the Loop via the Metra train system. Various interstate highways connect Palatine with Chicago, surrounding suburbs and O'Hare International Airport. Recreational enthusiasts make use of our public park districts offering five swimming complexes, horse stable, canoes, bike trails, playgrounds, tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, driving range, sports fields and a handicapped-accessible raised sensory garden and playground. Arlington International Racetrack is another recreational setting located on our eastern border. Crabtree Nature Center meets the needs of nature lovers and bird watchers. Acres of Cook County Forest Preserve border Palatine to the north.
For competitive young athletes, Palatine offers corporate-sponsored Little League, Celtic Soccer, baseball and PAFA football. A community-wide hockey team and lacrosse team have recently been added to our sports selection for teens. Volleyball on an informal level is also offered through the Park District. Various churches and businesses sponsor adult sports teams.
